The phenomenon has sparked several discussions on social media platforms. People took the liberty to share before-and-after images of Yamuna that show how the river once used to flow near the back wall of the Red Fort. Vintage paintings and old pictures were shared by people on Twitter and Instagram to show the River Yamuna in all its glory and not the painfully polluted small stream.



The river has been flowing above the danger mark of 205.33 metres since Sunday and breached the previous all-time record of 207.49 metres on Wednesday due to a host of factors, including incessant rains. Such a situation was last seen in 1978 and the memories are mostly bleak.
